Dear Parent(s);
We are approaching our last week of the Spring Independent Reading Program. Your child has one week to complete reading
and turn in 5 book reports. You may want to ask him/her where they are with this assignment. Those who do
NOT complete the 5 book reports aren't able too join in the fun of the afternoon. Please encourage them to get going
if he/she is not quite there yet.
This week on Wednesday, we will have the opportunity
to spend half an hour in the Fire Trailer which the Firepals bring to school. It is a great lesson on what to
do if there would be a real house fire.
Last week your child brought home a note about the Unit B Talent
Show on May 27th.
You may want to check to see if he/she is interested in sharing their gifts of talent with their unit.
Details have been sent for our 7 week program independent reading program.
Please note that your child needs to bring back every Monday his/her weekly sheet with number of minutes read during the week.
Thanks for your help with this and signing any book report forms that are completed.
Third graders
have just completed a 3 week program about safety with our Firepals from the Fire Department. We will be able to experience
the portable Smoke House on May 18th. What a great lesson for all!!
You can keep tabs on your child's progress by logging on Power School. This year third and fourth
grader's test, assessment, and project scores only will be posted.
Thank you for reading with your
children at home. We read daily at school but they need to also be reading at home. Many of them have taken
tests on the computer at home and at school. Some have not been real consistent. The expectation of three books per month
continues throughout the second semester.
Have a good week! Keep in contact if
you have any questions or concerns.
Mrs. Christopher
